Marijuana concentrates are becoming more and more popular as people realize how awesome they are. Some cannabis industry insiders think the demand for CBD & THC concentrates will be even higher than it is for flower and edibles. Before you can appreciate everything that concentrates have to offer, though, you’ll need to choose the right vaporizer.

Different Types of Weed Vaporizers

There are many different vaporizers for you to choose from, but many of them share some of the same qualities. The two broad categories are dab rigs and vape pens. The difference here all comes down to whether you’re enjoying your concentrates out of an electronic pen or vaporizing them on a hot surface and enjoying them through a pipe (dab rig).

Dab Rigs

When you start shopping for dab rigs, you might notice that they come in many different shapes and sizes. You can find some fairly affordable options, or you can pay significantly more for something that is big and ornate. Either way, most dab rigs include all of the following parts:

    • Nail – This is the surface where you vaporize your concentrates. Normally made out of glass, ceramic, or quarts, this is to be heated with a blow torch (normal lighters aren’t hot enough) until it’s hot enough to vaporize your concentrates. You can also find electric nails that heat up using electricity. Once the nail is hot enough, you can place your concentrate on it, and the resulting vapor goes to the downstem next.
    • Downstem – This is a piece of pipe that connects the nail to the chamber of the dab rig. It’s just like the downstem on a bong or any other type of water pipe.
    • Base – Also known as the chamber, this is the largest part of most dab rigs. Typically, vapor will move through water at this point. Getting filtered through water is important because it will help cool the hot vapor before it proceeds to your mouth, throat, and lungs.
    • Mouth Piece – Finally, the vapor passes from the chamber through the mouthpiece and into your mouth.

There are many other accessories you may pick up along the way to help maximize your enjoyment of your dab rig, but the parts listed above are some of the basic components of your vape setup.

Dab Pens & Weed Vape Pens

If all of the above sounds too complicated to you, perhaps choosing to use vapes for weed will be more appealing. Weed vape pens are incredibly easy to use. Some of them include sensors that can tell when you’re inhaling, but most of them turn on and off with the push of a button. All you have to do to enjoy these vaporizers is make sure they’re filled with THC concentrates, turn them on, and inhale. Some weed vapes only work with brand-specific THC vape cartridges, while others can be filled with any THC concentrates you’d like to use.

Types of Marijuana Concentrates

Once you decide which type of cannabis vaporizer you want to use, it will be much easier to choose the appropriate concentrates. There are many options when you visit your favorite Alaska dispensary, and some of the most popular include:

    • Wax
    • Shatter
    • Live Resin
    • Vape Cartridges
